Simcheongjeon (The Tale of Sim Cheong) is a well-regarded traditional tale of Korea, although both the author and the date of its authorship remain unknown. The tale, which is based on Confucian principles, stresses the importance of filial piety toward one’s parents and the ideas of retribution associated with Buddhism.
