Called gonggosang or beonsang in Korean, dining tables such as this were borne on the head of a woman to carry food to people eating outdoors or in a government office. The table’s lower part is longer than that of ordinary dining tables to make delivery easier. It also has an open space at the front to enable the carrier to look ahead, and two finger holes on each side to enable the carrier to hold it firmly.
