This dining table is called a hojokban (literally meaning “tiger-legged dining table”) in Korean. The upper parts of its legs are shaped like an “S,” and curve outward. This red and black lacquered dining table displays the typical characteristics of a small table used in the royal court. The underside of the tabletop contains an inscription in Korean letters, which suggests that it was made in the Jeongyu Year, i.e., 1827 or 1887, and was used in Jagyeongjeon Hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
