National Museum of Korea Appoints RM of K-pop Group BTS as Global Public Relations Ambassador
Anticipating global promotion of Korean cultural heritage with RM

The National Museum of Korea officially appointed RM (birth name: Kim Namjoon) of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS as its Global Public Relations Ambassador on June 19.
This appointment was arranged to widely promote the value of Korean cultural heritage both domestically and internationally in collaboration with the world-class artist RM, while elevating the museum’s international standing. As the Global Public Relations Ambassador, RM will participate in various promotional activities for the National Museum of Korea and contribute to sharing the history and traditional culture of Korea with the world.
On the occasion of the appointment, the National Museum of Korea presented RM with a gift: a national museum merchandise ‘Daedongyeojido Hanging Scroll,’ which is a miniature of the original Daedongyeojido, a piece from the museum’s collection.
“It is highly meaningful to share the beauty of Korea’s cultural heritage with the global audience in collaboration with RM of BTS,” said You Hong June, Director of the National Museum of Korea. “We expect RM to play a significant role in establishing the National Museum of Korea as a cultural institution loved by people worldwide.”
RM, the newly appointed Global Ambassador, said, “It is my great pleasure to be appointed as the Global Ambassador of the National Museum of Korea,” adding, “I will do my best to share the beauty and value of Korea’s cultural heritage with a wider audience.”
Following the appointment ceremony, RM, together with Director You, viewed the Seasonal Highlight “Kim Hongdo: Painting His Era” currently on display at the Calligraphy and Painting Gallery.
