A special encounter with Korea’s National Treasures is about to begin.

Rather than having to travel to a distant city, you can now experience the beauty and spirit of Korea’s rich cultural heritage at your local museum.

In 2025, Tour of National Treasures, which was originally presented last year at the National Museum of Korea, is embarking on a six-month journey to affiliated national museums and local governments.

At eight national museums across the country, visitors can discover:

Patterned bricks showing the skill and style of the Baekje people

Sublime and intricate gold ornaments from Silla

Buncheong ware with its modest beauty and free-spirited designs

Elegant blue-and-white porcelain used by the Joseon royal court

When first encountering these works, we tend to immediately focus on their dazzling appearance or decoration. But as we continue to look, we gradually begin to feel the hands and hearts of their makers. At that moment, we realize the true meaning of the word “treasure.”

Any object that contains memories and emotionswhether a beloved doll from childhood, a notebook filled with our scribblings, or a well-worn photographbecomes a person’s own “treasure.” We hope this exhibition will not only reveal the beauty of our cultural heritage, but also awaken cherished memories held deep in our hearts.
